UPDATE: Late-breaking Abstracts

The Late Breaking Results Abstract deadline has been extended to June 17th and should be submitted as one-page abstracts via PaperPlaza.
Please use the Late_Breaking_Abstract_Template (linked).
The abstracts will undergo a streamlined acceptance-decision process and accepted abstracts will be presented at the conference as late breaking results posters. Abstracts will not be published in IEEE Xplore.

Regular Paper Submission

- [NOTE] Slide for Final Submission on PaperPlaza: a format-free single slide of your digest (File size: up to 1MB)
**Please note that this is not requesting the final version of your slides for the talk(s).**

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we cordially invite you to submit your work to the 9th IEEE RAS/EMBS International Conference on Biomedical Robotics & Biomechatronics (BioRob 2022), which will be held in Global Engineering Training Center at Seoul National University, Seoul. BioRob2022 is a joint effort of the two IEEE Societies of Robotics and Automation – RAS – and Engineering in Medicine and Biology – EMBS. The conference covers both theoretical and experimental challenges posed by the application of robotics and mechatronics in medicine and biology. The primary focus of Biorobotics is to analyze biological systems from a “biomechatronic” point of view, trying to understand the scientific and engineering principles underlying their extraordinary performance. This profound understanding of how biological systems work, behave and interact can be used for two main objectives: to guide the design and fabrication of novel, high performance bio-inspired machines and systems for many different applications; and to develop novel nano-, micro-, and macro-devices that can act upon, substitute parts of, and assist human beings in prevention, diagnosis, surgery, prosthetics, rehabilitation and personal assistance.

Prospective authors are invited to submit high-quality papers presenting original results. The technical program will consist of plenary sessions, contributed paper sessions, workshops and tutorials, contributed posters.

Please submit papers via the customary PaperPlaza process, follow the format guidelines, and use the templates available in LaTex and MS Word. Contributed papers should be six pages in length, with up to two extra pages at the cost of $185 per extra page. All papers are reviewed using a single-blind review process: authors declare their names and affiliations in the manuscript for the reviewers to see, but reviewers do not know each other’s identities, nor do the authors receive information about who has reviewed their manuscript.
A PDF version of this CFP is also available for download.
Important information regarding video submissions accompanying BioRob 2022 papers:

  • File size: 10 MB
  • File extension: mp4, mpg, mpeg
  • Video duration: 180 sec
  • Video horizontal lines (minimum): 480
  • Frame rate (minimum): 25
  • Scan type: progressive

Submitted papers will be eligible to be dual-published at the IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters (RA-L). Contributions submitted to RA-L / BioRob will go through a separate process.
